World History 1914 to the Present: Making of the Modern World 6
Athens: a City through History Program FULL
Why You Should Go:
Athens is one of the oldest and most cosmopolitan cities in the world. And Greece, of course, is renowned for its long history, natural beauty, spectacular seascapes, and welcoming culture. What better place to spend part of your summer studying history? Two courses will be taught at the Global Seminar in Athens. One will teach you about the major developments in the history of the world during the 20th century and how Greece experienced those changes, and the other course will give you an up-close and personal experience of the history of Athens. Meet the Professor:
Professor Gallant has lived in Athens for about ten years, beginning as a student in 1975. His mother was from Greece and has relatives all around the country. He is a trained archaeologist and has published books about Greek history across the vast expanse of time from ancient times to the present. |
