Programs Abroad EXPO 2011
Information for Exhibitors

You are invited to participate in EXPO 2011, the University of California, San Diego's twenty-sixth annual study-work-intern-volunteer abroad fair. Come help us work towards our goal of sending 50% of our undergraduate students abroad.

Schedule

7:30 - 9:15 a.m. Exhibitors' parking, check-in, set-up of tables
8:30 - 9:15 a.m. Continental breakfast available in the International Center Lounge
9:15 - 9:45 a.m. Welcome and orientation for program representatives
9:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Information tables open to the public
11:30 a.m. Lunch served to program representatives
3:00 p.m. Close of the fair

If you wish to send literature from your organization ahead of time, please clearly mark your packages "HOLD FOR PROGRAMS ABROAD EXPO" and send them to

Please make sure your materials arrive by Friday, September 30. We will deliver all boxes received by that date to your assigned table on the morning of the fair.

This year we will begin a special focus on academic discipline-based advising. If you have any materials that show which subject areas are available at your overseas sites, please be sure to bring them.

Transportation/Accommodations

You can reach San Diego from the Los Angeles area by car, by train, or by air. If you drive, we recommend coming south the evening before and spending the night in San Diego. Be sure to ask for identify yourself as a UC San Diego visitor when making reservations to qualify for the special rates (subject to change) on the list.

Driving Directions from I-5 North

We encourage you to arrive at UCSD between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. to allow yourself ample time for unloading matierals, parking, check-in, and set-up of your table.  One parking permit is included in your fee.

  • Take La Jolla Village Drive exit and turn left (west) at end of ramp.
  • Pass traffic light at Villa La Jolla Drive.
  • Enter campus by bearing right on Gilman Drive.
  • As Gilman Drive curves to the right, turn left on Mandeville Lane.
  • Follow signs to drop off materials and pick up parking permit from volunteer at end of Mandeville Lane.
  • Volunteers will direct you to recommended parking lots on Scholars Drive South.
  • If you come to the campus by taxi or hotel shuttle instead, go directly to the check-in table on Library Walk.

Registration

Please complete the Final Confirmation Form (pdf) and save the form to your computer. Sign it electronically or by hand and mail it to the address on the form along with a check or bank draft payable to UC Regents.

The registration fee is US$125 if postmarked by Sept. 30. If postmarked after Sept. 30, or paid on the day of the fair, the fee will be $150.  One parking permit and one lunch are included in your fee. Please add $11 for each additional lunch. Unfortunately, we cannot accept cash, credit cards, or electronic payments (except for recharges within the University of California).
